1950's Jewelry

The 1950's brought us the trapeze dress, the chemise, the "A" line dress, big shirts and toreador pants. Audrey Hepburn played Gigi and the ballerina look was born. The little black dress and the twin sweater set provided the backdrop for beautiful and creative costume jewelry pieces. Lisner, HAR, Schreiner, Florenza, Alice Caviness, Weiss, Sarah Coventry, Robert, Kramer, Regency, Art, Renoir/Matisse and others created fanciful designs.

The 1950's also brought dazzle to the screen with Marilyn Monroe and Jane Russell in "Gentleman Prefer Blondes" and again in "Some Like it Hot".
